More information

The steering is a safety-relevant system in vehicles. For construction machines and heavy trucks, the hand force on the steering wheel is not enough to move the axles.

For these applications, the steering is supported by hydraulic and electrical components so that the vehicle can be maneuvered safely with reasonable hand strength.

We develop special steering techniques with which the vehicle can be operated safely even if steering assistance fails. In autonomously operated vehicles the use of redundant steering systems offers advantages in terms of operational safety and serviceability.
